National Civil War Naval Museum Hosts Program to Celebrate Black History Month

On Saturday February 24, 201, the National Civil War Naval Museum will be having a program titled Lift Every Voice African Americans in Civil War Navies. Completely appropriate for Black History Month, this program highlights two interactive tours.  One that was displayed on February 17 titled Lift Every Voice offers a variety of stories all showcasing the major events of the navy through the life of African American nurses, pilots, sailors and engineers.

The program also includes some phenomenal people, which include Horace King, Harriet Tubman, Charles Fisher and many others, told through the performance of professional actors. The cost of this event is $7.50 for general admission, $6.50 for Military and Senior, $6.00 for students, and the cost is free for children 6 and under.
