Mrs. Abell is one of the best science teachers at Hardaway High School. She is currently my Environmental Science teacher and she is awesome! I decided to ask her some questions about herself, as well as school related questions.

What is your favorite part about teaching?

My favorite part about teaching is getting to work with wonderful students.

How long have you been teaching?

I have been teaching for over 20 years. I did stay home when I had my children. I loved getting to be a stay at home Mom! Best job ever! But they got to be big boys and I came back to teaching. I love science and enjoy sharing it with others. I came to Hardaway when they opened the Hawk Wing and then came over to the main campus.

What is the hardest part about teaching?

#1. Grading Papers!!! Students take the time to do my assignments and I feel that I should look at the work they completed for my class.

#2.  Meetings

#3. TkES

What is your favorite thing to do outside of school?

I love to spend time with my family! Summer is family time.

Have you taught any other subjects or sports/clubs?

Over the years I have taught my different science courses. Some of them I loved teaching more than others.

The most rewarding but most challenging part of my teacher career was coaching. The best thing about it was getting to work with kids to achieve a goal. The most difficult thing about coaching is the amount of time it required! Its is very, very, very time consuming!
